Bosco Verticale in Milan

Each apartment in the building will have a balcony planted with trees that are able to respond to the city’s weather — shade will be provided within the summer, while also filtering city pollution; and in the winter the bare trees will allow sunlight to permeate through the spaces. Plant irrigation will be supported through the filtering and reuse of the greywater produced by the building. Additionally, Aeolian and photovoltaic energy systems will further promote the tower’s self-sufficiency.

The design of the Bosco Verticale is a response to both urban sprawl and the disappearance of nature from our lives and on the landscape. The architect notes that if the units were to be constructed unstacked as stand-alone units across a single surface, the project would require 50,000 square meters of land, and 10,000 square meters of woodland. Bosco Verticale is the first offer in his proposed BioMilano, which envisions a green belt created around the city to incorporate 60 abandoned farms on the outskirts of the city to be revitalized for community use.

FukFoamBlanks-Chambered Balsawood blanks-Testimonial

This is what Craig Gordon, Manager for surf department at Brave New World Stores in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ has to say about our blanks.

This is the first time that I own a chambered balsawood surfboard, I decided to go with a more traditional shape, got myself a 5'8" single wood fin. It's something I wasn't expecting, paddle fast to the brake, ducking under the surf is fun, the board tents to come up very fast. Paddling into the wave, because balsa have more buoyancy than foam, is a lot faster, the board goes on top of the water.

The drop and coming off it is incredible, the bottom turn because of lack of flex, is way faster, it keeps momentum all along and keeps gaining speed. One word "AWESOME" Even though a little heavier than foam, but it compensates with momentum, response and memory.

The Warehouse 9-11-9

With the rain upon us as a sad reminder of the events that had unfolded in this day, we decided it was best to celebrate life. Atelier Productions in conjunction with Dr. Shakes has done it again. The audience was treated to a show of light, moving images, sounds, using the surrounding buildings as canvases, the electronic music setting the pace among the crowd, at the end, the event fulfilled it's desired purpose to bring people together.

one in a 100 a sensory experience

With the event fast approaching, the team got together to test the idea and all its elements. What we got as a result, was the most energetic installation, where the combined elements became an alter dimension where the sounds, images, vibrations, were one with the spectators, in a continuous cycle of energy. More to come.
